*** Flight Currency Policy *** Anyone who has not flown a glider in 90 days is required to fly one flight with an instructor! During each members BFR anniversary month, the member is required to go through a flight currency review consisting of the following elements: Ground Instruction: (~30 min) Ground operations - Read MSS Operation Manual on web. Review of traffic patterns for Lawrence Field Proper radio procedures Tow rope ring types and proper use. Landing at other airports. Emergencies... PTT, off field landings, slack rope and losing sight of the tow plane. Checklist and speeds to fly. Go/no go personal decision making. Flight Instruction: (One flight... maybe two) Aero-tow (Checkride must be by aero-tow). Steep turns. Slow flight. Stalls Traffic pattern issues and conflicts. Landing technique.
